Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Green Diwali’.
Diwali, we all know, is one of the most important Hindu festivals celebrated in India. On this day, throughout the nation, not only are joy and sweets are shared. Not only are pujas conducted for our gods. More than these, undue importance is given to bursting firecrackers!
Keeping this in mind, we must opt for a Green Diwali. Along with the horrifying fact that even small children are exploited in the making of firecrackers and subjected to hazardous risks, the environment is greatly affected due to the bursting of firecrackers.
Massive pollution can be recorded in one single day of Diwali. This significant incline is dangerous not just in the grand scheme of things- such as the tearing of the ozone layer- but for individual lives. Breathing conditions such as asthma and bronchitis are developed because of this.
Thus, let’s say no to firecrackers with a Green Diwali!
