1 Minute Speech on Global Warming In English

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a short speech on the topic of Global Warming.

NASA defines global warming to be “the long-term heating of Earth’s surface observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth’s atmosphere.”

Global warming is a cause for concern across the world. This gradual but steady incline in the average temperature of the Earth results in an increased emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, and ozone in the atmosphere, which has severe negative implications for the world as a whole.

Global warming thus results in dire consequences such as a rise in the sea level, and melting of glaciers and icebergs, which would result in a great deluge and significant shrinkage of land surface area.

Nations are working to slow this down. We must also cut down our electricity usage (use of ACs), prevent deforestation, and use renewable energy.

Thank you.
