Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a short speech on the topic ‘Food Safety’.
Food safety has become a major cause for concern nowadays. More and more cases against the poor quality of packeted foods and harmful chemicals being added to food for preservation and increased shelf life are arising. It is thus very important to realise the importance of food safety and not blindly believe alluring advertisements.
In India, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulates food safety. It was established in 2006 under the Food Safety and Standards act by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It diligently works towards maintaining that food product are unadulterated.
Various movies and documentaries are cropping up about awareness of food safety. Always check for harmful ingredients in the back of packages of food products. Do check for the expiry date of the product as well before using it and raise a complaint to the FSSAI helpline on account of any discrepancy.
