1 Minute Speech on Bal Gangadhar Tilak

Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, a wonderful morning to all of you. Today on this special occasion, I would like to speak some words on the topic- Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

Born at Ratnagiri on 23rd July, 1856, Bal Gangadhar Tilak came to be known as “the father of the Indian unrest” for his immense contributions to the Indian freedom struggle. He was lovingly called “Lokmanya” by the people of India, and has been termed “the maker of modern India” by Mahatma Gandhi.

He famously said, “Swaraj is my birth right and I shall have it!”, which became the cry of many freedom fighters during the Indian Independence Movement. He was part of the Lal-Bal-Pal trio along with Bipin Chandra Pal and Lala Lajpat Rai. His radical thoughts contributed greatly to the progress of the freedom struggle.

We must never forget to be grateful to the contributions of this great man! Thank you for listening to me so attentively.
