Good morning to everyone in this room. I would like to thank the principal, the teachers, and my dear friends for allowing me to speak to you today about Abdul Kalam. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is referred to as the Missile Man of India due to his involvement in the missile initiatives that India has launched.
He worked as a scientist with the Defence Research and Development Organization and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) (DRDO). He was the director of India’s first satellite launch vehicle at ISRO and played a key part in the nation’s “Pokhran II” nuclear test.
He struggled throughout his life to realize his passion despite being born during a time of extreme hardship for his family. He received the task to build an airplane together with a few other chosen students while he was a student at the Madras Institute of Technology, where he studied physics and aeronautical engineering.
