Subject: Request for you to give up Smoking
Dear Sally,
Take my love and affection. I hope you are hale and hearty by the grace of God. I’m also well by his blessings. In your last letter you had very sadly informed me that you have recently become a smoker, and do not know how to get rid of this terrible habit. Today, I want to sincerely ask you to give up smoking because it only has negative consequences.
Smoking is one of the greatest banes of society. It harms everyone, the smoker as well as all the people around them. The tar from smoking accumulates in your lungs and causes various respiratory diseases, including lung cancer, ultimately killing you. Death is one of the consequences of smoking, and keeping this in mind I strongly urge you to give it up. You have to think of yourself as well as all those who love you dearly.
Smoking is also extremely harmful to passive smokers who inhale the smoke indirectly and get diseases as well. Thus, you are not just making yourself ill through smoking, you are causing illnesses for other people too, absolutely innocent people. Please think about your friends and family, all of us who love you, and try to stop smoking. It will bring you no good. It is just a terrible addiction that kills millions of people every year. So, please give up smoking.
That’s all for today. Take care of your health and write to me whenever you have some time! I hope we can meet up soon!
Regards,
Leela D
