Subject– My plans for the winter break.
Dear Sameer,
Hello. How are you? I hope this email finds you healthy and happy. By Gods grace I am also well.
This November my dad is taking us to Kashmir! I am very excited as this will be my first trip to Kashmir. The best part is I will get to watch snowfall. To fully experience the allure of this bit of paradise, we planned a lengthy trip to see the Himalayan splendour. I read online that there are seasons when Kashmir blooms with maple trees in the fall and gorgeous pastures in the summer, but Kashmir’s winters are truly exceptional.
The biggest tourist destinations in Kashmir, such as Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Pahalgam, and Srinagar, all appear more beautiful when they are covered in snow. The ideal winter months to visit Kashmir are December through February. The minimum temperature drops to -8 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature sometimes reaches 10 degrees Celsius.
However, since we are not used to such extreme cold conditions, dad planned to take us in November as this month is considerably better for us. We will go on a shikara ride in the Dal lake and ski in Gulmarg. I am trying to convince dad for a hot air balloon ride but he is a bit skeptical about safety. I have already demanded that we will only stay in a houseboat. Houseboats are amazing and I want the complete Kashmir experience.
What are your plans for the vacation? If you visit your grandparents dont forget to get those besan ladoos for me!
Much love,
Karishma U
