Subject– The danger of dengue.
Dear Sameer,
Hello. I hope this email finds you healthy and well. The monsoon season has commenced and with it comes the spread of dengue fever.
Dengue is not a disease that can be taken lightly, if not paid enough attention it can prove fatal. The disease most commonly spreads through mosquitoes. However, it is not contagious and you can not get dengue fever just by being around someone who is infected. Most symptoms of dengue fever are commonly mistaken for other types of illnesses such as the flu.
So it is important to pay careful attention to the following symptoms- dengue causes extremely high fever with the temperature going as high as 104 F. It also causes headaches, muscle and joint pains, nausea, vomiting, eye pains and rashes. Usually the recovery time is a week but in some cases the symptoms may worsen and prove to be life threatening.
A severe case of dengue will attack the blood vessels and the number of blood platelets drops significantly. Such symptoms should not be ignored and you should immediately consult a doctor and seek medical treatment. Dengue mosquitoes usually breed in stagnant water. This is why we should make sure that there is no water collecting in pots or other things around us. Keep your surroundings clean and make sure to cover all pots, animal dishes and vases.
Stay safe and spread this information in your groups as well.
Much love,
Yash U
