Subject– My best friend.
Dear Sameer,
Hello. How are you my dearest cousin? I hope this email finds you healthy and happy. By God’s grace I am also well.
In the last email you asked me about my best friend. His name is Hasan and he is in the same class as me. We have been friends since nursery and we sit together in all our classes and spend the lunch break playing basketball on the school ground. He likes cricket more but for me he plays basketball. Sometimes I play cricket but I am terrible at the sport and end up getting out very quickly.
He is the best friend I could ever ask for. Hasan possesses numerous virtues but what makes him most special is the respect he offers everyone and his ability to understand others. He might not always agree but he will accept that others can be different and have opposing views. He respects all his peers and teachers. I learnt patience from him. He is an excellent leader too.
Last week under his captaincy our class won the cricket tournament. On my birthday he surprised me with my favourite cake and snacks. We played on my computer and munched all the goodies. It was such a fun day. He plans to become a pilot and I pray he does, he will make an excellent pilot. Hasan is always eager to help everyone and once he also rescued a cat.
His mother and father were furious when he brought the stray cat home but then they could not resist the cuteness and eventually gave in. Now, they live with a cat, a frog and a sparrow who occasionally visits. I tease him that he will soon turn the house into a zoo. He is a very funny guy. You should meet him some day. Just get him some samosas and he will instantly like you.
Give my regards to uncle and aunty and much love to Diya.
Yours lovingly,
Aman U
