Respected sir/ ma’am,

I’m writing this letter to inform you that I’m suffering from tonsils and am not able to talk without inducing pain in my  throat. My doctor has advised me to take rest for a few days until I feel better. I hope you’ll excuse me from classes. I’ll resume my classes as soon as possible.
