Dear Rudra,
I hope you and your family are in good health and are happy. Yesterday, there was a quiz competition at my school. I attended and I couldn’t answer most of the questions correctly. It is then that I realise how poor my knowledge of current affairs is. About half of the questions asked were based on current affairs, which a person who reads newspapers daily can easily answer.
I do not have the habit of reading the daily newspaper. But now I’ve resolved to read the newspaper every day in order to stay current with current events. Newspapers are the knowledge hub for current affairs. We have to read all types of news to know about the latest events in all fields.
Other than news, there are also discussion columns and articles in the newspaper that help us understand the general problems and form our own opinions about them. Newspaper reading also builds our critical thinking skills.
