Dear Varsha,
I hope you and your family are doing well and are happy. What else is happening at your school? Two days ago, a notable writer came to our school as part of the literary club’s inauguration. It was then that I realised the importance of English. In her address to the students, the writer was speaking English, as she doesn’t know our mother tongue.
Though I understand what she said, I don’t speak English as well as she does. Knowing and understanding English is very important. English is a global language. It is not the most widely spoken language in the world, but it is the official language of most countries. Therefore, it is the language that most people use for communication.
A good command over the English language increases our chance of getting jobs in the future. Knowing English is compulsory when studying abroad. I really want to improve my English language skills.
