My country is India. It lies on the continent of Asia. It is the world’s second-largest area in terms of population and its seventh-largest in terms of area.
India gained freedom from British colonial rule on August 15, 1947. Hence, every year, August 15 is celebrated as Independence Day. India is a democratic, secular country. Jawaharlal Nehru is the first prime minister and Dr. Rajendra Prasad is the first president of our country. India is a developing nation. India is known for its diversity.
There are 28 states in India, and each of them differs in terms of language, culture, and tradition. Besides its cultural differences, we respect the culture and tradition of all the states, which shows unity and sovereignty.
