Good Morning everyone, today I am going to share my views on the topic ” Gender Inequality “.
Gender inequality refers to the unequal and biased treatment of individuals on the basis of their gender. This inequality happens because of socially constructed gender roles. Gender inequality causes one sex or gender to be routinely privileged or prioritized over another. Gender equality is a fundamental human right and that right is violated by gender-based discrimination.
The root causes of gender inequality are gender bias and social norms that restrict women’s rights and opportunities, which, together with preference comparative advantage between men and women, are the root drivers of gender gaps.
We must remember that a key component of sustainable development, economic growth, and peace and security is the concept of gender equality and women empowerment.
