Good morning one and all. Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, it is my pleasure and privilege to stand before you today. I am honored to have this opportunity to speak to such a distinguished audience.Today on this occasion, I would like to talk about one of the greatest inventions, computers.
Computers, as we are all well aware, are electronic devices that run on programs. This technology has become an integral part of our lives and completely revolutionised the way we work and communicate. The transformation has been one of a kind and way beyond our imaginations.
These computers that can store and process large amounts of data quickly and efficiently, have become an integral tool for businesses and individuals alike. The scope of these electricity run devices is wide and spans from communication to education to entertainment. The technological revolution allows large amounts of data to be processed efficiently and helps work run smoothly.
It saves a ton of paperwork and time. Computers have allowed the world to turn digital, almost in all hospitals, offices and even Government offices, data is processed digitally and that has made everything quicker. Letters and faxes are replaced with emails, instead of waiting weeks, information is sent and received within minutes.
The internet has been successful in connecting the world and enabled people to share and receive information globally. Computers have simplified our lives so greatly that it has created a dependency on them. A world without computers seems almost impossible to imagine now.
These devices have opened avenues for distance learning and work from home, concepts that were once alien are our present reality. Small businesses have been able to grow greatly and large amounts of literary knowledge is made available for free on the internet.
However, as with any invention, there is a downside to this one as well. One of the major concerns revolving around computers is cybersecurity. Since a lot of information is stored digitally, hackers have hacked and gained access to personal and important data.
Thus, cyber attacks and cyber crime are a threat to safety. Although, the cyber police work diligently to eliminate this kind of violation, peoples’ awareness is crucial. On the bright side, the benefits of computer outweigh the risks. Thank you.
