A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll give a short speech on the topic of ‘Resources’.
Google defines the term ‘resource’ as “a stock or supply of money, materials, staff, and other assets that can be drawn on by a person or organization in order to function effectively.”
Resources can broadly be categorized into 2 divisions: Natural and Man-made.
Under natural resources, there are 3 different categories. They are biotic and abiotic, renewable and non-renewable, and potential, developed, and stock resources.
Here biotic and abiotic are living things such as plants and animals and non-living things such as metal and stone. Renewable and non-renewable resources are those resources that can and cannot be replenished such as water and coal
Potential resources are resources whose potential is yet to be fully realised, such as water and solar energy. Developed would thus be metals and fuels and stock would include oxygen, which has potential but no technology.
Examples of man-made resources would be buildings and machinery.
