1 Minute Speech on Handling Peer Pressure In English

Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I will be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘Handling Peer Pressure’.

Google defines peer pressure to be “influence from members of one’s peer group.” In reality, it is so much more than that.

Peer pressure, more than being called a mere influence, is more like an irreversible impact on one’s mental health. This, more often than not, is not positive in many cases. It becomes mandatory to learn how to handle this peer pressure.

Perhaps the first thing to do is communicate your feelings. Either to the person who is making you feel as such or to your parents, communicate the pressure that you are feeling on account of whatever it is. In most cases, they might genuinely be not aware and work towards it.

Learn to trust your own feelings and instincts. Take help from close ones and indulge in self care.

Peer pressure might destroy you. Slowly but steadily, learn to let it not win.

Thank you.
