Subject– My first Christmas celebration in Mumbai.
Dear Tania,
I hope this email finds you healthy and happy. I write to you from Mumbai, the city of dreams.
When I first came here, away from home I was very anxious. I did not know if I would get to enjoy Christmas away from you all. However, I have to tell you, this Christmas was surreal. It felt like it was straight out of a movie. I missed you all terribly but my friends here made sure that I enjoy the holiday to the fullest. We went to Linking Street and it was entirely lit with fairy lights.
It was a sight to behold. There was a humongous tree that had presents littered all around it. The tree was very pretty and it was beautifully decorated with stars and colourful baubles. There was Santa too with his elves. It was so well curated that I half hoped to catch a glimpse of reindeer dashing through the sky.
We laughed the entire evening and went to dine at a restaurant nearby. The restaurant was also decorated and they had karaoke. We danced and sang carols for the remainder of the evening. I did not forget our tradition, I baked apple pie. It did not taste as good as mom’s but it sufficed. All my friends loved it.
Missing you all too much. I wish you and everyone at home happy holidays. Did you do anything different this year?
Yours lovingly,
Sabrina U
