A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a small speech on ‘Constitution Day’.
India’s ‘Constitution Day’ is celebrated on the 26th of November every day. Also known as ‘Samvidhan Divas’or ‘National Law Day’, Constitution Day is celebrated ever since 1949.
This day commemorates the adoption of the constitution of India, which came into effect on 26th January 1950, set under the Cabinet Mission Plan, 1946. Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected as its permanent president.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 19th November 2015 notified the decision of the Government of India to celebrate the 26th day of November every year as ‘Constitution Day’ to promote Constitution values among citizens.
It is the longest written Constitution in the world, consisting of 395 articles, 22 parts, and 12 Schedules. This was not typeset or printed but calligraphically written in English and Hindi.
