Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, a wonderful morning to all of you. Today on this special occasion, I would like to speak some words on the topic- Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
The desire for a male child often leads people, especially in underdeveloped rural areas, to kill the girl child at birth. The societal perception that girls are weak and a burden to the family is the chief cause of this evil.
Girls are capable of everything, and yet every opportunity is consistently taken away from them throughout their lives due to prejudices. Educating girls gives them a chance to make use of all their capabilities and prove themselves equal to men in every aspect.
No society can progress without its women progressing, and therefore we must actively strive to save the girl child and educate her. After all, these little girls will be the very women who lead us in the future!
To conclude, we must do our best to stick to the saying “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”! Thank you for listening to me so attentively.
