Subject-Why I love to travel by train.
Dear Sameer,
Hello. How are you? I hope this email finds you healthy and happy. By God’s grace I am also well.
In the previous email you asked me my favourite mode of travelling and let me tell you that I absolutely love to travel by trains. Trains are affordable, do not cause as much pollution and are extremely convenient. Life in Mumbai is very fast and so are the trains here. As I live 2 hours away from my college, taking the bus is not very convenient.
Mumbai has local trains that are literal blessings. The train only takes 40 minutes to take me to my station and from there it’s a five minute walk to my college. The train connection here is very planned and it connects the entire city and even the suburbs. If I take the bus then firstly, the traffic majorly increases my commute time and I have to change buses as the one from my locality does not go all the way to my college.
There is a train every five or maximum ten minutes and they are usually on time. Very rarely is there a delay. Even for long journeys I prefer trains because flights are costly and my fear of heights makes me extremely sceptical and uncomfortable while in an airplane. There is just something about sitting in a train and watching the outside world pass that makes me feel at peace.
You meet so many friendly passengers while on your journey and it is so interesting to hear their stories, buses and planes lack this.
You said you like airplanes, would you ever want to fly one? I would love to control a train!
Much love,
Zia U
