- Bidar Fort is a fort situated in the city of Bidar, Karnataka.
- Sultan Ahmad Shah I built this fort when he shifted his capital from Gulbarga to Bidar in 1427.
- He built it along with many other Islamic monuments.
- There are more than 30 different monuments inside Bidar fort itself.
- The fort was nominated by UNESCO to become a World Heritage Site in 2014.
- It was included with some other monuments under the name Monuments and Forts of the Deccan Sultanate.
- The Bidar Fort has seen many historical milestones.
- It has witnessed the rise and fall of the Bahmani dynasty.
- It has also seen the rise and separation of the five Deccan Sultans.
- It was finally captured by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1657.
