- Jayaprakash Narayan is an Indian activist.
- He is also known as JP or Lok Nayak and he was also a theorist, socialist, and political figure.
- He was a part of the Quit India movement, Sarvodaya movement and JP movement.
- He was born on 11 oct, 1902 and died on 8 October, 1979.
- He is the founder and president of Lok Satta Party.
- His death was caused due to effects of diabetes and heart ailments.
- He belonged to the Janata party.
- He was put in HazariBagh Central Jail, however along with his accomplice on a Diwali day they escaped the jail.
- He won the Bharat Ratna, award for Public Affairs, the Rashtrabhushan Award and the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service.
