- Chaudhary Charan Singh was the fifth prime minister of India.
- He was born on 23 December 1902 in hindu jat family at Noorpur in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.
- He belonged to Teotia clan.
- He did his higher education at Agra university.
- He led a very simple life and spent his free time in reading and writing.
- He was also a great author and wrote many books and pamphlets related to agriculture and poverty.
- In his honour Meerut university and Amausi airport in UP was named after him.
- He had great contribution in Indian agriculture sector.
- Every year his birthday is celebrated as Kisan diwas.
- He died at the age of 85 on 29 May 1987 at New Delhi.
