Good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a short speech on the topic ‘flowers’.
Flowers are loved by most people universally. A variety of flowers grace our Earth, each beautiful and unique in its own way.
When one says flowers, it is assumed that every flower is colorful and fragrant. This is a common misconception. There do exist flowers that are not fragrant such as Poppies and Tulips. Wind and water-pollinated flowers, similarly, are not colored.
Again, there also exist poisonous flowers and insectivorous flowers such as monkey cups which are not merely beautiful to look at but lethally dangerous. Poisonous flowers include nightshade, hyacinth, and aconitum. Nerium oleander is considered to be the deadliest of flowers with the potential to kill people and animals with the strong fragrance it emits.
Aside from flowers taken in the literal sense of the word, there are flowers in the literature that are symbolic of something. Red roses, for example, symbolize love in literary works.
